Red Carpet Premiere: North of the 10

Consistency. Persistence, Patience, and follow through. This night was the culmination of so many elements coming together at the right place and the right time. In retrospect, the red carpet premiere for “North of the 10” was a night where I was taking in real tangible results from all that I had invested in my acting career. Watching my performance on the big screen with friends and family was the outcome of many years filled with sacrifices and rejections that have left permanent scars and bruises (literally and figuratively). But on the night of the premiere, I was reassured that it was all worth it!

My dad will probably ask why I’m not wearing a belt :) Sorry Daddy !

An International Win

Wins come in different forms. In this case, it was being cast for a role in an international feature film where I got to act with legends of the Middle East, Samer Masri and Jumana Mourad who play my parents on screen! I can definitely say I was in my feels that night. Nothing felt so rewarding as hearing the positive reviews from the audience after watching my character come to life on the big screen. To be in a room full of professionals in the industry that I had watched and learned from reassures me that the pursuit was worth the gamble. Who would’ve thought these very people would become friends and co stars!

Fun fact: Dr Brahim Majzoub in Tripoli put on my braces back in the day. He’s probably retired by now. I hope he knows how thankful I am for his work.

I was lucky enough to work with a team that was able to produce a film and turn it around very quickly. I mean, we’re talking start-finish in an 8-month span! I commend the director, producers, production crew, and everyone involved in pushing this fun flick across the finish line. It’s important to recognize how quickly they were able to turn it around and have it distributed on BET+ and Paramount+. Middle East, you’re up next.

That’s a Wrap!

I am very proud of the fact that this film made it to large streaming services in the US. This movie is becoming wildly recognized and I’m excited for the upcoming opportunities it will bring. And, hey, I’m ready for anything that comes my way! After all, this is exactly what I’ve been dreaming of and spent a decade preparing for!
